Our story

Two friends, one 5-kg roaster, a lot of trials

Brew Lab started in 2021 when Aarti and Nikhil — a chemical engineer and a Q-grader — grew tired of stale “premium” coffee on supermarket shelves. They imported a 5-kg drum roaster, set it up in a garage in Kothrud, and spent six months roasting (and dumping) batch after batch.

Today we buy directly from estates in Chikmagalur, Coorg and Araku Valley, roast every Tuesday and Friday, and cup every batch before it goes out. If a batch doesn’t taste right, it never leaves the lab.
